2021 DC CTSA Spring Regulatory Update & Hot Topics in Clinical and Translational Research
This conference brings researchers, administrators, and clinical professionals from throughout the region together for collaborative discussion and response to regulatory revisions and identified clinical research priorities within the current landscape of clinical trials.

The topic for the first day of the conference on Friday, April 23, 2021 is “Moving Swiftly to Combat the COVID-19 Global Health Crisis”. Dr. David Diemert from The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences is our keynote speaker. Following the keynote speaker, we will facilitate panel discussions with local experts on vaccine research and rollout, diverse participant recruitment efforts, and the various regulatory issues related to human subject COVID-19 research.

The topic for the second day of the conference on Friday, April 30, 2021 is “Beyond COVID-19: Challenges & Lessons Learned during a Pandemic”. Our keynote speaker is Dr. Stephen Hansen with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Following the keynote speaker, our panelists will explore the challenges faced by researchers during the pandemic, offering lessons learned to move clinical and translational science forward as we emerge from this experience.

Both days of the conference will begin at 9:30 AM EST and conclude by 12:30 PM EST.

The DC CTSA Consortium is a partnership between the Washington D.C. Clinical and Translational Science Award hubs. Members include the Clinical and Translational Science Institute at Children’s National, The George Washington University, and the Georgetown-Howard Universities Center for Clinical and Translational Science (GHUCCTS).
