Plain Language Training
This workshop will introduce participants to the goals of the Plain Language movement and share a tactical Plain Language checklist that can be used to improve readability and usability in any type of content.

Writing in Plain Language helps organizations make sure that all target end users can easily (1) find what they need, (2) understand what they find, and (3) use what they find to meet their needs. As such, Plain Language content brings together the best of audience empathy, user experience design (UX), user testing, and, of course, sentence-level readability.

This workshop helps researchers, subject matter experts, and professionals understand how they can make quick but high-impact changes to more effectively communicate their work to stakeholders.

In this interactive workshop, participants will bring a piece of content they are working on, and they will immediately apply Plain Language principles to it. They will leave the workshop with immediate steps they can implement for an improved process and product.
